Our Story

Every stone of this Albergo Diffuso has a story to tell…

Our family is deeply connected to Borgomaro: The houses have witnessed the lives of our ancestors, the shops belonged to our uncle, grandfather, and cousin, and their footsteps still echo through the streets. This is why we want to continue the story of the village and do it the right way—by preserving its history, culture, and traditions.

With this idea in mind, we embraced the philosophy of the “Albergo Diffuso,” restoring our family buildings and sharing with you a piece of our life that would have otherwise been lost.

The Three Souls of the Relais

The Casa Madre (early 19th century) is the beating heart of the Relais, housing the reception, breakfast room, garden with a pool, and six rooms. It once hosted the historic Amoretti Butcher Shop of Grandpa Peppin and Grandma Evelina, while the family lived on the first floor—this is where Mama Piera was born and where Elena spent her childhood summers.

The Casa del Borgo, with its beautiful terrace, retains its original 15th-16th century structure. The ancient storerooms and workshops, which once housed Aunt Maria’s bakery and barbershop, now accommodate part of our rooms, keeping the village’s history alive.

The Casa del Fienile, with its characteristic “orange slice” shape, is located along the path to Maro Castello. Its late-medieval walls, once used for drying hemp for naval ropes, now hold our most intimate rooms.

The Casa Madre

This early 19th-century building now houses the common areas, including the reception and breakfast room on the ground floor. On the first floor, you will find rooms 1 to 6/7, a small lounge, and the terrace with a garden and a whirlpool pool.

From the reception, cross the bridge, walk up the pedestrian street, and turn left – a total of 90 meters on foot. This building is located right in the historic center of the village, along the typical Ligurian caruggio, with its colorful buildings. The House in the Borgo features six rooms and a beautiful lounge on the third floor, complete with a terrace.

Climbing another 40 meters, you reach the third building of the Albergo Diffuso: the Hayloft House. Today, it is fully renovated and modernized, featuring two rooms that may be the closest to the intimate soul of the Borgo. These are the two smallest double rooms, with characteristic vaulted ceilings and small windows, typical of this type of construction.
